Clinical Behavior Analysis is the application of the conceptual tools of applied behavior analysis to treat problems that have traditionally been characterized as mental disorders. Common problems such as depression, anxiety, stress, relationship discord, substance misuse, chronic pain, disruptive behavior, impulsivity, inattention, tic disorders, and others, are treated utlizing techniques such as acceptance commitment therapy, behavioral activation, behavoral parent training, contingency management, dialectal behavior therapy, functional analytic psychotherapy, and integrative behavioral couples therapy.
Applied behavior analysis (ABA) is most commonly known for its success in treating individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities (e.g., Down syndrome, intellectual disabilities). The goal of intensive, comprehensive intervention is to improve cognitive, language, social, and self-help skills.
Behavior analysis in education provides learning across content areas, grade levels and student populations by designing, implementing, and evaluating instruction based on analyzing interactions between the teacher and student. Behavioral strategies are used to teach academics, social, vocational, and daily living skills which include high rates of learner responses with contingency feedback and ongoing instructional decision-making based on direct and frequent measures of student performance.
As one of the most effective psychosocial approaches to substance use, behavioral approaches can prevent and treat the misuse of alcohol and drugs and the associated psychosocial problems that follow; psychiatric comorbidities, unemployment, relationships. There are several evidence based interventions for adolescents, families, and adults.
Voyage can provide direct consultation in matters such as education and behavior modification. Many times school districts tell parents what their child needs without the parents full understanding of what their child deserves. I can help explain what your options are, what your options from the school district should be, and help get your child(ren) the services they deserve.* Parents also struggle with behavior problems at home with their children that may not require direct intervention, but just a little advice and support to get them on the right track. Behavioral consultation can help your children become more structured and efficient with morning schedules, homework, chores, bedtime routines, etc.
